A Little About Me

About Me - Traffic Tsunami

Before we dive into GetResponse, I want to give you a little bit of information about me. My name is Ronald, but everyone calls me Ron. I'm a 28-year-old native of Champaign, IL. I moved to Chicago when I was 24, and for a while I struggled.

I didn't have a college education, and wasn't really interested in it because none of my friends really seemed to gain "freedom" because of it. However, I spent a lot of time working terrible jobs that were not worth my time or effort.

When I took the plunge to be an online freelance writer, I was a bit scared I would fail. However, I felt that I was already failing with the way life was going, and I was able to quickly triple my income while working 20 hours less a week.

I eventually used my earnings to help me invest in training for online entrepreneurial endeavors. I specialize in online lead generation, and I can confidently call myself my own boss.

What Is GetResponse?

Now that you got an idea of who I am, let's talk about GetResponse. This is a Polish-based company that specializes in producing email marketing tools and services. These extensive features are designed to deliver these tools and functions in a way that is extremely easy and profitable.

Who Is It For?

While the features are very versatile, this program may not be for everyone. Since this service is an e-mail marketing service, you have to actually have an e-mail list of leads to integrate into GetResponse.

It has a lot of tools available that will help you convert leads and even generate more of them. However, it does not actually provide the training you need to market effectively to prospective leads.

GetResponse Review - Who Is It For.

As such, if you do not already have some proficiency with marketing, then GetResponse might not be the first place to start. There are plenty of courses, however, than teach you how to get traffic consistently. This will help you build your list, and this can be an amazing tool to optimize the profitability of your lists.

With that said, let's talk about who can really benefit from this service.

eCommerce Merchants

There are a number of tools that are helpful to eCommerce merchants. For starters, there are options for Professional Members that allows for integration with Shopify and Magento.

We'll rate how well they satisfies each one of these areas using a 1 to 5 grading system.

In terms of ease, they make it very simple for you to operate your dashboard and customize it for your benefit. There is a Quick-Action list that has the most common activities performed on GetResponse. It can feel a bit congested to use, but it is easy to get the hand of.

E-mail Creation

The email creation tools are very well done, and allow you advanced personalization for the emails you send. There is an extensive range of email types, including:

  • Classic newsletters.
  • Autoresponders.
  • RSS to Newsletter.
  • Easy A/B Testing.
  • Surveys.

Versatility and Flexibility

You have a lot of design options and you can customize a great deal of templates rather easily. However, managing columns proved to be a hassle.

Rating - 4/5

The features that you have for automation are a 5/5. They can range from simple to advanced and complex, and set up automations for things like abandoned cart campaigns, event tracking and more. However, these features start at a more expensive tier plan (more on that later).

Rating - 4.5/5

List Management

This is a crowning part of their services. You can tag your leads to be able to to categorize them and fit them into the proper campaigns. Automation and custom filters allow you to seamlessly automate how your list is managed. You can even create rules to automatically filter out leads for deletion.

Rating - 5/5

Opt-in and Opt-out Features

Again, this feature allows are large list of pre-made templates to choose from, and you can create your own from scratch. You also have the option to host this on Get Response or your own website. Making it easier to find thank-you page editing could make this a 5/5.

Rating - 4.5/5

This is the one area which could use help. Deliverability determines whether or not your e-mails are classified as spam. The e-mails have a history of struggling with Microsoft e-mail services, so this is something to consider.

Rating - 3.2/5

Analytics & Data

There is a lot that they make available to you for tracking your leads activities. There is no heatmap which is somewhat of a drawback to the reports and analytics capabilities.

However, you're able to identify how your leads are responding to your emails. How many are clicking through? What locations are responding well? How many of them are converting to customers based on these campaigns? You have access tons of information you can use to increase your success.

Rating - 4.5/5

As this service is host in over 180 countries, it is helpful that they are available in 25 different languages.

Rating - 4.75/5

There are extra features in this service that can be pivotal to your campaign optimizing efforts. These include:

Rating - 4.75/5

There are 4 basic plans with this service, with the most basic package starting at $15/month for 1,000 subscribers and the most advanced package, Enterprise, costing $65/month.

The basic package does really well with people who have small businesses and for those who want lot of features without being overwhelmed. A more thorough outline of the pricing and features included in each package can be found here.

Pros & Cons

Before we get into the pros and cons, I want to preface something important. I mentioned that this service is not necessarily a beginner's service. If you don't have marketing training, it won't supply that for you.

Some would consider this a con, but for me, it will not be included as one. The main reason? Because they never claim to build lists without proper marketing. It just promises that the tools it provides will help you build that list from your marketing efforts.

  • Highly versatile and infused with a ton of customizable features.
  • Advanced automation features.
  • Superb list management features.
  • Very easy to use.
  • Fairly priced.

  • Deliverability could use some work.

Since you've made it this far, you are now well aware of what GetResponse brings to the table. Again, if you don't have marketing training already, this is not the best tool for you. However, this doesn't mean that it won't be useful in the future, so even newbies are not completely outside of their radar.

However, if you are in need of a service that offers you the tools and ability to optimize the profitability of your e-mail lists, then Get Response an be a wise choice to consider.
